10/30/1970: Monsoon Halts Fighting

10/12/1970: Nixon: 40,000 Troops Withdrawn by XMAS
1970: President Nixon announces that 40,000 more U.S troops would be withdrawn from Vietnam before Christmas. This was part of the Vietnamization program, and the second phase of troop withdrawals totaling 150,000 that were announced earlier in the year on April 20.
